July 2019 marked the 20th anniversary of my arrival to the United States with my two children and five suitcases. We arrived at the sunset of the old millennium and the dawn of the new, and our journey was every bit as emotionally charged as its times. It is only now, 20 years later, that I am finally ready to create art that deals directly with the personal gains and losses resulting from this life-changing decision.

This project is in its earliest infancy, but this much I know: it will be a social practice project, involving 1st & 2nd generation immigrants and others who have an up close and personal connection to immigration. It will involve interviews and questionnaires, mixed media art and, of course, photography. It will likely result in a publication of some sort. I will post more information and opportunities to get involved as the project develops.

In the meantime, feel free to drop me a line to sign up for future participation.
